The SmartSeis XP puts everything on the recording side in one place: a rugged, carry-on-sized suitcase weighing a mere 25 pounds soaking wet. No keyboard, mouse, laptop or printer to worry about or keep track of -- it's all in there. The SmartSeis XP and its precedents (SmartSeis and SmartSeis SE) are probably responsible for more refraction surveys than any other modern seismograph. Like all of our seismographs, it uses the same analog and digital hardware as our top-selling Geode; it is simply packaged differently. It also uses the same basic software, albeit with some differences in feature sets.

While it is capable doing almost any type of survey, the SmartSeis was designed from the ground up as a shallow refraction system. If that's what you do, the SmartSeis is what you want.
